Founder's Message

For years I’ve been inspired by my brother, he’s my role model and the person I look up to. The cool thing about my brother is that he has a superpower called Autism. He can hear the quietest sounds in the loudest places, has an incredible sense of smell, is more caring and compassionate than most people I know, and has a memory like no other. But like all great superheroes, he had to overcome quite a few obstacles to get where he is today. He struggled with communicating with others, would hide under tables when in crowded spaces, and had lots of trouble reading other people’s emotions. These obstacles caused him a lot of frustration and often made it hard for him to make friends or communicate with teachers. He would often act out, or get really angry, sometimes even throwing things.

Watching him overcome most of these obstacles to become who he is today has always inspired me, and he encourages me to be a better version of myself. My mom was instrumental in providing my brother the right resources and interventions to help give him strategies to better cope in uncomfortable situations and to help him communicate more effectively. These interventions and strategies really helped him when growing up, and have allowed him to become the man he is today.

Nobi was developed as a device to provide other students with the opportunities and strategies my brother had. By first aiding in communication and self-regulation we can give children a strong foundation to be successful when going between home and school. We live our vision every day by aiming to create a platform of acceptance and equal opportunity for all abilities. As Nobi Labs grows we will incorporate a variety of features. Ones that encourage positive interactions with their peers. We'll include modules that can be created by educators and therapists to support their students between sessions. And more!
