We believe the best way to learn music is to play music. We take students from the lesson room to the stage, developing both their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels. School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music lessons and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting. Our Music Instructors create a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey. School of Rock is an ingenious concept that gets kids and adults rocking out to the classics and on stage performing with their peers. Music programs are designed to create a supportive environment where music students of all skill levels are comfortable yet challenged at every turn. In addition to individual private music instruction on guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards and drums, students also learn how to jam with their peers in a weekly rehearsal session. The team dynamic creates a supportive and motivating environment where kids feel inspired to excel.





School of Rock is more than just a music school; it’s a chance for kids to form a community and make friendships while developing leadership skills and accountability. We are most excited to unleash talent and confidence in our students and inspire them to accomplish anything they set their minds to. Because programs run year round, our students continue to progress and have opportunities to play in unique settings in the summer months. We’ve showcased many different genres and have offered a variety of opportunities in our shows such as Punk, Led Zeppelin, British Invasion, 80s Rock and Grunge Heroes.

Our students have played on big stages such as at Maxwell’s Concerts and Events, Cork Hall, Chicopee Ski Hill, City of Kitchener, and School of Rock was a key sponsor of Big Music Fest 2015. Our students have also supported many local charities, as part of our goal to give back to our community. The Food Bank, Lutherwood Steps for Kids, Kids Ability, Jeans ‘N Scrubs, Waterloo Region Arts Awards, One Roof, and 100 Guitars are a few of the causes and events we’ve supported.




School of Rock programs are performance-based and emphasize the message that music is not just about playing an instrument; it’s about teamwork, building confidence, and creating leaders. The unique programs includes “Rock 101”, which teaches basic musical and collaboration skills to beginners aged 8-11, the “Performance Program,” the heart and soul of School of Rock, and our “Grad School Program” for adults. The school also offers an enriching program designed for 5-7 year old rockers called the “Rookies” program. After 14-16 weeks of one-on-one lessons and structured group rehearsals, the students of “Performance Program” transform into rock stars and are the stars of their own rock concert in front of a real live audience.
